The project

Protecting forests together

FORFIRE-AI brings together research, businesses and digital technologies to improve fire prevention and management in Italian and Tunisian coastal forests. The project aims to identify signs of risk earlier and provide useful information to those monitoring and protecting the land.

SEEDS’ contribution

SEEDS contributes to the development of a digital platform bringing together fire data, maps and information. Research activities combine artificial intelligence and blockchain to support land monitoring and data traceability.

Monitoring: View fire events and affected areas on a map.
Risk analysis: Use tools to support prevention and scenario assessment.
Traceability: Make the collected information verifiable and preserve its history on a blockchain.

Studying how fires evolve

The research explores tools that use artificial intelligence models to predict how a fire may spread over time. Comparing different scenarios helps identify potentially affected areas and support prevention.
